PHASE 2 JANO RELIEF FUND

The JANO Japan earthquake and tsunami relief fundraising campaign, which launched on March 14, has received $59,006 from over 200 generous donors as of April 30. We truly appreciate all of the donors for showing their support for Japan. All of the donations will be sent to the Japanese Red Cross account set up by the Consulate-General of Japan in Detroit.

Relief efforts for the areas affected by the earthquake and tsunami have just started, but the threat of nuclear radiation caused by the damaged nuclear power plant is still under a very serious situation. For Japan to overcome this devastating disaster, long-term support is crucial. In order for JANO to provide a long-term aid in accordance to the needs of the relief effort, we have closed the current JANO Relief Fund on April 30, and started JANO Relief Fund Phase 2 on May 1.

The donations will be processed by the Japanese Language School of Cleveland, which will issue receipts upon sending 100% of the donations over to the Japanese Red Cross. We will provide information and updates pertaining to the relief fund on JANO homepage, www.janosakura.org.
